Abe's Garage

Abe Resnikoff was a trained pharmacist, who served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Second World War as a truck driver building the military airbase on the island of Bermuda.

The salt air was hard on equipment, and the Corps trucks kept breaking down while Abe's kept on going. Abe got pulled out of his truck and put into the Corps garage as Foreman Mechanic.

(And the airfield got built.)

Abe was a self-taught mechanic with a knack for figuring out problems a different way (ask us about his kill-switches, eye-lash curlers, aluminum awnings, or any other of a number of "Abe-ventions"). He passed his problem-solving approach down to his son, our dad, who passed it on to us.

Howard L. Resnikoff was a mathematician, educator, car guy, and entrepreneur who inherited Abe's knack for doing things a different way and dialed it up to 11. (That's him at the wheel of his build in the picture above.) When we told him our car-storage nightmare and thoughts about how to do storage better, he said: DO IT!

And he kept saying it until we did. Dad passed a lot sooner than we thought he would, but not before seeing us get this business off the ground.
